After spending the best part of our Wednesday bungee jumping, it was time to get down to some hiking. Tsitsikama National Park is home to the Otter Trail, a long scenic hike stretching for miles around the coast. Today we did stage one.
The two hour long hike was a test for some – especially those who took a wrong turn – yet it was immensely rewarding. The coastal views kept coming as we twisted and turned along the path, over boulders and beaches. A waterfall marked the end of our walk; the perfect place to catch breathes and rest up for the walk back.
Thankfully the morning rain eased off early on, which made our hike all the more enjoyable. We also managed to catch a glimpse of some Southern Right whales breaching in the bay, a rare sight so close to shore.
